Evidence of recent financial-sector turmoil has showed up in Euromoney magazine’s latest Private Banking Survey.

The normally placid and slow-moving ranking this year sees last year’s fourth placer Credit Suisse becomes the top ranked global private bank while UBS AG (UBS) ??? No. 1 in the ranking since the survey’s inception in 2004 – slips into third spot while, according to Euromoney’s 2010 survey. HSBC took second place, as it did last year. Credit Suisse’s success comes down to a pre-downturn decision to make the most of links between its wealth-management, asset-management and investment banking operations, according to Euromoney.
